Christ King Athletic Association
DR. MICHAEL CARY
CAVALIER SPIRIT AWARD
One of the primary goals of the Christ King athletic program is to develop good sportsmanship in our players.  As a tangible way to show our players the importance of sportsmanship, the Athletic Committee has instituted the Dr. Michael Cary Cavalier Spirit Award.  The Award is given annually to one 8th Grade male and female student athlete (school or religious education).  The recipients are selected based upon their demonstration of exceptional dedication to their team, their effort in practices and games and their Christian attitude towards teammates, opponents and coaches.

To be considered for the award, players must be nominated.  Coaches, parents or other participants or observers of the athletic program can make nominations.  Players in any of the sports offered at Christ King (volleyball, basketball and softball) are eligible.  A nomination form is attached.  Nominations should be submitted to Athletic Committee Chair Michael Hodan.  They can be submitted through Margaret Hodan in 5A or mailed to 8314 Jackson Park Blvd, Wauwatosa, 53213.  The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 18, 2008.  The nominations will be reviewed and the recipients determined by a subcommittee of the Athletic Committee consisting of the chair, vice chair, volleyball, basketball and softball coordinators and the 8th grade and religious education representatives.  It is the hope of the committee that the Pastor, Principal and 8th grade homeroom and religious education teachers will again assist the committee in an advisory capacity.

If you have questions or comments in regard to the Award, please contact Michael Hodan at Michael.Hodan@micorp.com or 771-7628.
